Ready for a Good Partner?

If you've been scouring the city for holiday gifts that are memorable without being flashy (thank you, recession!), consider this post to be an answer to your prayers. Last week, a select handful of editors and Upper East Side cognoscenti were given a peek at the wares of Global Goods Partners. The empowerment-minded charity, which aids Third World communities by ordering up locally produced crafts and putting the proceeds back into aid for the women and children in those regions, is offering for sale a slate of internationally produced crafts that are reasonably priced and beautiful. Each item has its own story to tell, which it does on an attached tag. Our favorite item: the red papier mache nesting bowls (pictured). Please the impossible-to-please loved ones on your list and do a good turn at the same time. Win-win, right?

I agree, GGP's products are the perfect recession-time holiday gift! My favorite? The alpaca shawl and hat. They're soft, warm, chic and support Bolivian women artisans. The holiday e-gift card is also festive and easy (not to mention eco-friendly!)
