Not Necessarily the News

In the Three Stooges film Gents without Cents, the trio performed a vaudeville routine involving a character who, upon hearing a post-hypnotic suggestion, begins a crazed monologue that begins "Slowly I turned, step by step, inch by inch...." We wonder how that skit might have gone if instead the Stooges had uttered "Quickly I turned, plate by plate, project by project." Were they still with us today, Larry, Curly and Moe would have had the chance to try it, at the annual Plate by Plate dinner, sponsored by Project by Project.
The eleventh annual fete benefited Asian American For Equality , and was attended by a slew of TV talent, including local New York anchorwoman Kaity Tong, veteran anchorwoman Connie Chung, Jenna Ushkowitz of the Fox show Glee and CNN's Sandra Endo and Fox 5's Julie Chang (above). With so much reportorial know-how in the room, there was much to be said about the walk-around tasting, which brought together restaurants from around the city, along with beer and spirits companies galore.
As for the Stooges, chances are, they would have loved Plate by Plate, even though there were no pieplates for throwing.
