A Berry Good Time Had By All

A cocktail that tastes great and actually promotes well-being? Sign us up. Açai, the Brazilian superfruit that is purported to have all manner of health benefits, is one of the primary ingredients in the antioxidant-rich Veev, a spirit that you can enjoy without guilt. And in that vein, there were plenty of innocent bystanders enjoying Veev cocktails at Delicatessen in SoHo last night. Organized by Notes on a Party's Celia Chen, the tasting event delivered at a level that was up to Chen's always-high standards, bringing together fun people in a cool space and giving them ample libations to keep the party interesting. Soundtrack for the night was provided by DJ Mode. To sample our favorite cocktail, named—what else?—the Joie de VeeV—try the recipe after the jump. And for party pics, click here. 1½ ounces VeeV Açaí Spirit 1 large ginger slice (diced) 1 ounce fresh lemon Juice ¾ ounce simple syrup ¾ ounce orange liqueur Crystallized ginger slice, for garnish Muddle diced ginger, lemon juice and simple syrup in the bottom of a bar glass. Add VeeV, orange liqueur and shake well with ice. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with the crystallized ginger slice.

Better than Ezra

TriBeCa Nightclub Duane Park was sizzling last evening, with tasteful stripteases by Pandora, (pictured left) and Amber Ray and the trumpet sounds and ivory ticklings of a special Saturday-night cabaret act. (The restaurant recently began offering performances on select Saturdays to meet the great demand for weekend shows.) Among the patrons enjoying the night were banker Daniel Ezra and his wife, Lizzie da Trindade-Asher, who gathered more than two dozen of their closest friends on the occasion of Daniel's birthday. Many members of this very international crowd had traveled quite a distance to wish Daniel well, including from as far afield as Sweden. Another couple jetted in from Puerto Rico. After all the songs were sung and cigars had been passed around, the party people decamped to Kiss & Fly, where a little of both took place. The night finally wrapped near sunrise. All in all, a birthday to remember.

All Chic, No Freak

At the Night of Eco Chic EntertainingCelia Chen, Notes on a Party's hostess extraordinaire, achieved what many thought impossible this evening—hosting a celebration of Eco-Chic Entertaining that was at least twice as big as last year's gathering and featuring the most talented purveyors of green this side of Berkeley. Among the food and wine vendors sharing their wares (rather generously, we might add), included Square One organic spirits, Bonterra Vineyards, Peak Organic Brewery, Sikstone Catering and Ayrshire Farm. Also underwriting the evening were online invite company pingg.com, furnishing co. lounge22 and event designers dvgreen. Special guest star of the night was Josh Dorfman, also known as "The Lazy Environmentalist." Dorfman was anything but lazy, spending all night graciously signing complimentary copies of his new book, The Lazy Environmentalist on a Budget. Thanks to Eco-Chic Entertaining, we're feeling very chic tonight. And green. And it's not even Earth Day yet.
