Real ‘Culture’ Comes to New York

Red Mango, Greenwich Village Red Mango, the Korean yogurt concept that has taken California by storm, has opened the first of what will soon be a series of New York locations, one in Flushing, the remainder in Manhattan. Billed as a guilt-free alternative to traditional frozen yogurt, Red Mango contains live cultures that bestow all manner of health benefits. Not surprisingly, Hollywood celebs have gone crazy for the stuff, with Leonardo DiCaprio even requesting a Red Mango machine for his home. Company president (and former Wall Street banker) Dan Kim acknowledges that with outside temps in the 20s and 30s, many of us are not thinking about frozen treats these days, but he still believes that New Yorkers are ready for something different and he's excited to be the one bringing it to us. So if you're in Greenwich Village today, put down that Magnolia Bakery red-velvet cupcake and stop by 182 Bleecker Street (at MacDougal) to experience what Leo and Co. have been raving about. (The shop's open till 10.) Or, if you can't make it this evening, check in tomorrow morning and order yourself a yogurt breakfast, replete with not-so-healthy (but yes, delicious) toppings of Cap'n Crunch, Fruity and Cocoa Pebbles, and more. %%showphotos [setid=72157603386322216]%%
