Who Needs Munich?

Oktoberfest winds down in the Bavarian city of München this weekend, but the action in New York is just heating up, as Chelsea's Klee Brasserie announces a month-long series of special menu items in celebration of the 200-year-old German festival.

Among the highlights to expect include beers such as Paulaner Oktoberfest Märzen, Spaten Oktoberfestbier Ur-Märzen, Hacker-Pschorr, Oktoberfest-Märzen, Ayinger Otober Fest-Märzen, and the eminently more pronounceable Brooklyn Oktoberfest Beer. And starting today, Austrian chef Daniel Angerer (left) has unveiled a brand-new menu that features sausages such as Kaese Krainer (filled with cheese), as well as rhyming sausages Bockwurst and Knockwurst. Other highlights include Wiener Schnitzel, Jager meatloaf and grilled Kobe beef Bratwurst.

If even the thought of this much meat makes your cholesterol boil, you can always opt for something much more American: the Oktoberfest pizza. Just tell them to hold the key ingredient: house-made jalapeño sausage.
