Do Pigeons Fly Over the Rainbow?

Probably not, but no matter. Tonight's free screening of The Wizard of Oz, at Rumsey Playfield, in Central Park, will bring out New York dreamers of all sorts. Sponsored by Netflix and held in celebration of the seventieth anniversary of the classic film, the reel treat will be preceded by a performance of songs from the film by American Idol runner-up Jennifer Hudson.
If lines like "I'll get you my pretty" and "There's no place like home" mean nothing to you, all is not lost. The Oak Room at the Plaza Hotel is doing a special drinks promotion in connection with the screening. Channel your inner Cowardly Lion, Tin Man, Scarecrow or Dorothy and try one of mixologist Orlando Rivera's creations. (Or try all four...for a mere $25, you'll get courage, a heart, brains and a taste of home.) And you won't even have to battle flying monkeys to get there.
