Savile Row Comes to Park Ave.

suit.jpgOur favorite London tailor, the esteemed men's clothier Henry Poole, has arrived for its annual wintertime visit to New York. The masters of the measuring tape have set up shop in a suite at the Intercontinental Hotel (111 East 48th, just off Park), where—from now through Saturday—they will expertly take your measurements and help you create a suit, blazer or shirt that will fit you like nothing you'll ever find hanging on a rack. After two follow-up fittings (they'll be back in NYC in June and again in October), you will be ready to hit the town in true bespoke style. If you're interested in setting up a fitting appointment, contact the company's proprietor, the always-affable Simon Cudney, at 212-755-5900. (That's the hotel's main line; ask them to "ring up" the Henry Poole suite.) Once you've reached Simon, you can tell him NewYorkInsider sent you. With the cost of visiting London increasing by the day, this is the best way we know of for looking like a stylish Brit without ever leaving the comfort of Manhattan. %%showphotos [setid=72157604008548599]%%
